I may re-create some of the blog entries that I can remember by hand, so if you start seeing weird stuff pop up in the past - that'd be it.

Yup, it's shot...
I dug into the failed hard drive a little more today, first figuratively then literally. I could not get the drive to recover, and I wasn't about to spend $1000+ to have the data recovered at a lab, so I dismantled it for various parts. I now have a nice circular mirror on my desk, and some really heavy-duty magnets for sticking stuff to :)

Web and Mail down
For those of you who were wondering, my web and mailserver hard drive crashed late Sunday night. The drive has been replaced, but I'm afraid that I lost a bunch of data from the blog. Oh well, there's a lesson to be had from all of this: Backups are important, kids. Try to make it a habit to do it more than every year and a half between them...
On the plus side, I was able to save the picture gallery (just recently backed up), but I have to re-do the upgrade to Coppermine.

Happy Birthday! It's been two years?'
Happy birthday to JJ, who officially turned two yesterday! It is kind of hard to believe that it has already been two years, my time goes by so quickly. Soon he will be looking into colleges.
Which, speaking of college, I have signed him up for a UPromise account. This is pretty cool, if you shop at certain stores, or buy particular products, the store or manufacturer will donate a small percentage of the cost of the product into an account which can be used by JJ for education-related expenses later on. I am also looking into starting a 529 fund for his school, which the UPromise money can be automatically rolled into.
Pretty neat stuff...

The kid is waterproof!
Well, it was bound to happen. It seems that every parent has their story of some funny, yet very messy thing their kid has done. Well, get a load of this:
Vaseline Pic #1
Vaseline Pic #2
Sorry for the links, I wanted to add the pics inline, but apparently Internet Explorer has issues conforming to standards. However, there are more pics in the gallery - check them out!
But, yes, you guessed it - JJ got a hold of a jar of Vaseline. One of the little ones too, I might add. We're still trying to get it out of his hair.
