All I can say is holy crap! You have to read this article to believe it: ‘63 LeMans Tempest sells big!

Congrats to the seller!

Well, have you? Unfortunately if you are in Illinois, and haven’t voted, tough tu-tus. The polls are closed now. If you are north of the Cheddar Curtain, get your butt in line - you still have a half-hour left.

I did, and I’m proud of it (can’t you tell?).

The ability to vote is one of the greatest reasons to thank a veteran for the sacrifices they have made. Wouldn’t you know it, there is a day set aside to do just that (though you shouldn’t need just one day). Veteran’s day is just a week away - November 11th…

Happy Halloween to everyone out there, I hope your night has been a scream!  We’ve had a good time here, JJ had fun trick-or-treating, and he finally had a chance to enjoy his costume:

Here’s a political quote I saw online today:

Also, why would I ever support a party that seems to be populated by inept criminals? If the Democratic Party is just as corrupt (according to Republican apologists) then they are at least talented enough to not get caught. - Fark user GitOffaMyLawn

Here’s a bonus (presumably faked) safety picture I came across as well:

Gotta love it…

Sadly, I have lost my other grandmother today, for Grandma Irene passed away this afternoon.  She was home, at peace in bed, when she left us.  Thankfully Rob, Toni, and I were blessed with the ability to wish her our love and to pray with her before she went.

Grandma Irene had a big part in how I’ve developed into the person that I am today, and I still owe her a big debt of gratitude.  In some ways, she taught me to be free-spirited, yet cautious, analytical, and somewhat disciplined as well.  She loved to polka, she tried to teach us kids plenty of times, and at family events she was always out on the dance floor in the highest high-heels that we’ve ever seen.

She was also our guardian angel.  If we had troubles, we knew that we could turn to her for at least some good advice on how to make our lives better.  In some ways, she was able to help out with a lot more.  For that, Kelly, JJ, and I owe her a lot of gratitude.

I was talking to Mom earlier, and she mentioned that she had started saying her goodbyes when the dementia first started to set in last year.  That Grandma wasn’t the mom she knew or remembered.  While I’m sad to see her gone, it comforts me to know that she is now the Grandma that we all remember - only just in Heaven where she can put on the heels again and polka to her heart’s content.

We’ll miss you Grandma. - Love, Jay

Here’s another one for you…
A young man excitedly tells his mother he’s fallen in love and is going to get married.
He says, “Just for fun, Ma, I’m going to bring over two other female friends in addition to my fiance, and you try and guess which one I’m going to marry.”
The next day, he brings three beautiful women into the house and sits them down on the couch and they chat for a while.
He then says, “Okay, Ma. Guess which one I’m going to marry.”
She immediately replies, “The red-head in the middle.”
“That’s amazing, Ma. You’re right, how did you know?”
“I don’t like her,” replied his mother

I was reading an article on hunting in the Herald this morning and came upon this joke in the online comments:

” What do you call a vegetarian with diarrhea?

A salad shooter. “

Just thought I’d share that with ya…

Here’s an interesting quote I found in today’s Straight Dope question:

“Despite a public response that can charitably be described as tepid,
Circus Peanuts are available from several companies. In other words,
people compete to sell them! So apparently what we’ve got here is a
product that survives not because anybody is genuinely fond of it, but
because less than 100 percent of the populace is totally repelled.
Strange, but people have used the same principle to become president of
the U.S.”

Once again, it goes to think that nowadays the decision on who to vote for isn’t the best candidate for the job, but who is going to screw it up the least.

Anywhoo, read the whole article - it’s pretty funny, and ends with a helping of kraut juice as well.

Well, I guess I finally got around to changing the blog software - again!  This time I moved over to Wordpress, as I kept getting bummed over things that I couldn’t do with my old Serendipity-based blog.

Check this out and let me know your thoughts, I’m still looking to add new things and tweak existing features so expect more changes shortly.
